Innovative Medicines Initiative – Emtrain

European Medicines Training Program, Emtrain, is an EU-project within the Innovative Medicines Initiative with the task of analyzing, co-ordinating and implementing efforts made by project within the IMI Education & Training pillar (SafeSciMet, EU2P and Pharmatrain). Emtrain is a consortium composed by equal percentage of members from the industry (EFPIA) and academia (research infrastructures from the FP7 program ESFRI-BMS e.g. ECRIN and EATRIS) and is therefore a public-private-partnership. The aim of Emtrain is to promote trans-disciplinary curricula as well as trans-border mobility. PhD-programs will be designed that foster industry/academia mobility and collaboration.
The Karolinska Trial Alliance is a member of this consortium on behalf of the Karolinska University Hospital, but also as a representative for ECRIN i.e. due to our role as group leader within the work package for education. In Emtrain, we function as a leader within the work package for Accreditation, Harmonization and National Implementation of Master and PhD programmes within the field of medicine. The project was initiated during 2009 and will be finalized after five years.

Innovative Medicines Initiative – Pharmatrain

Pharmaceutical Medicines Training Program, Pharmatrain, is comparable to Emtrain as it is also a project within the IMI-family and is composed by participants from both the industry and the academia. The goal of Pharmatrain is to perform an inventory on existing courses and develop new Master and PhD-programmes, all within the field of pharmaceutical medicines. We are a member within the work package for Strategy and Liaisons. The project was initiated during 2009 and will end after seven years.
